Original Dana Beers Pitch Video From 2023
Dana’s Response
Dana’s Response 2024
Hail Mary Pass 2024 Part II
Hi again Dana,
Got your response and tried to DM you. My main questions are:
1. Are you allowed to do something like this?
2. Would it be a BarStool Sports thing or a Dana Beers solo thing?
Like I said, I’m not looking for a job or to start a game company. I’m just a creative who believes the guy with the best idea wins.
I would be as hands-on or hands-off as you want. My goal is to be a part of pop-culture and make a shitload of money.
>>> Bottom Line: We could easily launch this for free on Kickstarter and with a little luck would have a $9 million dollar Kickstarter in 30 days.
Plus, the campaign itself could be a massive content factory - creating videos, letting backers vote on ideas, doing live streams, etc. <<<
About Me: 20+ years in advertising/marketing/brand. Was a creative director for a brand you’ve heard of. Had a chance to be brave creatively once (Adult Swim) - took the safe route and I regret it every day.
I developed ScoreCards as a way to teach my kids about football and involve spouses and girlfriends at watch parties. (My buddies and I play for a $1 a point.)
Would love to talk this through. My phone/text: 402-802-3060
NOT LIVE: MOCKUP ONLY. THIS IS ONLY FOR DANA TO REVIEW AND SAY, “LET’S FUCKIN DO IT!” – OR – “GO FUCK YOURSELF CORNHUSKER BOY.”

ScoreCards
The Game You Play While Watching The Game
Group Party Game | 500 Cards | 2 - 20+ Players
ScoreCards is a group/party card game that features 400 possible plays, events, announcer sound bites and camera shots commonly or uncommonly found while watching football on TV. Each card has a point value, so when the event on TV matches the player’s card they play the card and draw another card.
There's also 100 Action Cards that add a level of Fuck You.
Works on any level of televised football: NFL, NCAA, USFL, XFL, etc.
Story Equity
Like football itself, ScoreCards offers “story equity.” This refers to the potential a game has to keep players telling stories about it even after they’ve finished playing. Someone doing something unexpected, pulling off an obscure combo, a come from behind victory, or a really bad beat all lend themselves to this kind of thing.
A game with good story equity encourages players to see and experience unfolding narratives and moments that make the game more exciting and memorable.
Why?
Football fans will love this.
There’s an undeniable social aspect to watching football. Whether it’s at a sports bar, or in a family rec room, watching football with the gang is a unique part of the American experience. The explosive growth of fantasy football leagues and online sports gambling proves there’s also a desire by many to add an extra element of excitement to the sport.
Quick Hits:
Turns passive activity into a competitive activity.
Reinforces healthy competitive nature of sports fans.
Reinforces social aspect to watching football.
Plays into a fan’s desire “to make things interesting.”
Doesn’t interfere with other activities (Fantasy Football, wagering, socializing, etc.)
Makes a 45 to 7 Monday Night Football game interesting.
The consumer benefits are obvious and easy to sell.
At its core, ScoreCards is a very simple concept. It’s easy to communicate and to understand, whether you’re an avid football fan or just looking to buy a gift for a football fan. There is no special education or change of behavior we are requesting. People already get together to watch football games with friends.
Many football fans enjoy adding a level of excitement to the game. And social fans, from younger adults to spouses, enjoy the idea of being part of the gang.
Quick Hits:
Price point and Dana Beers/Barstool Sports name will make this a great gift item.
Inclusionary. Game can appeal to anyone who watches televised football.
Builds upon existing consumer behaviors.
Game play is easy to communicate.
Crowdfunding comes from leveraging real relationships and having people organically share campaigns they care about within their communities. Because this peer endorsement carries more credibility than traditional advertising, the messaging is more impactful and people are more likely to get invested in supporting the campaign.

Social Involvement and Content Creation
Stretch Goals are a “thing” with crowdfunding. This is the ability to do more than just ask for money, it’s an opportunity to have fun along the way and issue challenges that help spread the word, strengthens a brand bond and creates a shit ton of content.
